Amanda Cardona is an Associate at the boutique IP law firm Lando & Anastasi, LLP in Boston, where she prosecutes patent applications domestically and abroad in a wide range of technologies, specializing in the fields of chemistry, and biotechnology. Amanda brings several years of experience as a research scientist to her practice.

Prior to her law career, Amanda managed a genetics lab with a focus on cancer and cardiovascular research at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, experience that has been integral to and has helped shape her industry focus in therapeutic and cosmetic formulations; cell culture; medical devices; “green” technologies; chemical and industrial process control; specialty materials and coatings; and consumer products. Amanda also has experience in intellectual property portfolio planning and development at various stages of business growth.

She enjoys working with start-ups and early-stage companies, including those developing an initial intellectual property strategy and leveraging licensed technology for their growth. Amanda is fluent in Spanish, and she is passionate about increasing Latinx and female representation in STEM and legal fields, including through her work as a mentor for the Parallel 18 BioLeap program, a life sciences innovation incubator program led by the Puerto Rico Science, Technology and Research Trust.
