Jenn Karnakis is the Executive Director of the Suffolk Law Intellectual Property Center and Administrative Director for Law School Concentrations at Suffolk University Law School. Jenn is also an Adjunct Professor at Suffolk Law School where she teaches the Intellectual Property Survey course for upper-level law students.
Prior to joining Suffolk, Jenn was a life sciences intellectual property attorney in the Boston area with decades of experience focusing on emerging life sciences and biotechnology companies, research institutes, and universities working in a wide variety of technologies, including antibody and other protein-based therapeutics, nucleic acid therapeutics, bioengineered vessels and other grafts, CRISPR, medical devices, and molecular diagnostics. Focusing her practice on small to midsize companies, Jenn was primarily responsible for providing strategic counseling, developing complex patent portfolios, and implementing worldwide patent strategies for the prosecution, licensing, and enforcement of those patents during all phases of her clients’ growth.
Jenn received an AB in Biochemical Sciences from Harvard College and a JD from Cornell School of Law. She is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
Outside the office, Jenn is actively involved in her local community, where she is a co-Director of the Walpole Farmers Market, serves on various town boards and committees, and has been an elected Representative Town Meeting member since 2019.
