Tasneem Dohadwala is the Founding Partner of Excelestar Ventures, where she and her team are active investors in founders that exhibit compelling medical technology, deep technology and beyond. Previously, her experience included working in financial services on the sell-side at Lehman Brothers and Matrix Partners. Notable investments during her time at Excelestar Ventures include Augmenix (acq. by Boston Scientific), nVision (acq. by Boston Scientific), Conformal Medical, Diesel Labs, Instylla, and Altiostar Networks.
Starting from being a young, active member of the Women of Lehman Brothers and then leading as President of Wellesley College Alumnae Boston (Wellesley College’s largest alumnae organization), Tasneem has always been excited to further women's leadership and women in business. She is passionately and deliberately mentoring and searching for female-led companies and believes that investing in women is the best way to bring more women into leadership roles.
Tasneem is the Chair of the Board of Trustees at the Pike School, a Member of Wellesley College’s President’s Advisory Council, a Charter Member of TiE Boston, a member of Brigham and Women’s Cancer Research and Care Advisory Board, and a member of the Phillips Academy Andover Development Board. She has also contributed an essay “Women and the Workplace” to the book, Passion & Purpose: Stories from the Best and Brightest Young Business Leaders.
At her helm, Excelestar Ventures has been named one of the top 100 Women-Led Businesses in Massachusetts by The Boston Globe. Tasneem herself has been honored as a Rock Capital Advisor for Harvard Business School, a Boston Business Journal Movement Maker Honoree, Startup Boston’s Equity Champion of the Year and is also the Managing Partner of the Golden Seeds Boston Chapter. She is a graduate of Wellesley College and Harvard Business School.
